Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, responsible for counseling and advising customers regarding their travel needs/wants. Is responsible for developing new business and maintaining strong working relationships with existing customers. Must work closely with Travel Assistants and operations staff to accomplish customer goals and desires.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Demonstrates familiarity with customers and their account(s). (10% - E)

2. Supplies customers with basic travel information, investigating and resolving all inquires and problems. (10% - E)

3. Provide personal travel service in a courteous and professional manner. (5% - E)

4. Understands and comply with industry regulations and firm policies. (5% - E)

5. Must be available to assist all walk-in and call-in customers regarding their travel needs: (25% -E)
a. Researching customer requests.
b. Creating a package meeting all travel and price requirements.
c. Booking the travel, providing accurate and timely service and ensuring optimum customer relationships.

6. Provide information regarding travel services to prospective customers and others in the company to develop new business. (15% - E)

7. Maintains a strong working knowledge of travel market trends and developments. (5% - E)

8. Extremely knowledgeable with regard to all products sold “in house” as well as by competition. (5% - E)

9. Assist in marketing products and services of other units within the organization (i.e. bank products) and develop close working relationships with the organization’s retail branch personnel. (10% - E)

10. Keeps up-to-date with all continuing education requirements. (5% - E)

11. All other special projects, reports and duties as assigned (5% - M).
Minimum Education & Other Requirements
Must possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Prior travel sales experience and knowledge of the automated reservation system required. Excellent customer service, sales, and oral and written communication skills are necessary. At least 2 years as a Travel Consultant I or relevant experience is required. Must possess personal computer skills and be familiar email and the internet. Experience with World Span reservation system is preferred. A high school equivalency is mandatory.
